Gotta Love Cinnamon Raisin Bread

by eatingbirdfood on August 26, 2008

Yesterday for breakfast I ended up having the same combonation as the day before yesterday.. the oats with PB. I felt just as full when I finished eating it, but I was home the majority of the morning and of course, as speculated, I couldn’t hold out and had a snack of dried fruit and granola before lunch.

Then for lunch I had Amy’s Organic Indian Mattar Paneer. I have tried several of these meals and they have never disappointed. The neon color of the container when you are finished eating is kind of odd, but Indian food always seems to be bright and the flavors of the Chana Masala go perfectly with the rice and curried peas. I try not too eat frozen meals all the often but the Amy’s Indian line is my favorite.

I ran to and from the gym today, and did the workout from Self magazine which includes that infamous “Magic Multitasker” that everyone has been talking about. I got home and was starving because it was past my usual dinner time, so I ate this salad as I prepared dinner: the tomato is the highlight of the salad, because it’s so vibrant, juicy, and delicious and because I had no other veggies to add to the prepackaged salad mix besides 1 measly mushroom.

The salmon with an Asian spice on top which included wasabi took forever to cook, but it ended up being tasty. On the side we had mushroom couscous, basically straight from the package, but it had great flavor and bok choy which was steamed with low sodium soy sauce, hot sesame oil and ginger.

After dinner we watched The Darjeeling Limited, I had a frozen banana for a snack and fell asleep half way through the movie. I’m known for my ability to fall asleep during films… it’s a pretty great talent if I say so myself.

And because I am writing this on Tuesday morning and I have already eaten breakfast I’ll go ahead and post that as well. Some Kashi Go Lean cereal with a few shredded wheat bites mixed in, with half of a banana on top and skim milk. After the cereal I couldn’t resist the Rudi’s Organic Cinnamon Raisin Bread that Isaac bought a few days ago so I had one slice with smart balance. The bread is so sweet, it definitely like a dessert, but perfectly fine for a breakfast dessert as well.

I have fallen asleep during practically every movie I’ve ever “watched.” It never fails. Including Darjeeling Limited.

How did you like the workout? You’re right, it’s so popular! Makes me think I should try it – but only if you think it’s worth it.

I LOVE cinnamon raisin bread. I grew up with my mom using cinnamon raisin bread to make “cinnamon toast” for me every morning: bread + butter + powdered sugar = delightful sugar rush. Ahh, those were the days!

Christie: I can’t wait either!

fitnessista: Yes! I like the tofu bowl as well.

Arielle: Same here! My boyfriend used to try to keep me awak, now he just knows it’s inevitable.

Erin: I have done it twice now, the first time I got pretty sore.. which I consider a good sign because you know you worked you muscles well. The second time I hasn’t feeling it the next day, although I would recommend it!

Eating Bender: It’s just sooo good!!

I don’t eat many frozen dinners either, but i love amy’s frozen indian dinners. They do come in handy when i need something quick to take to work.
