Eggcellent Oats

I had a good time with my friend yesterday, we didn’t do too much. Just hung out, chatted it up, and ate some dinner. I think the highlight of the evening was going to get ice-cream. I didn’t get to post last night, but I have photo of my salad from dinner.

This morning I woke again early for a 5 miles run. It was tough because the sun was shining bright, unlike yesterday. By the end of the 5 miles my feet were feeling like they were forming blisters. When I took off my shoes I realized a had small blisters forming on the balls of both my feet (worse on the right). And, I already have calluses on both feet in the spot it was hurting. I feel as though my socks could have been a problem because they were cotton, or maybe I need a new pair of shoes. I’ve had these ones since February. But I’ve always had feet problems. it’s hard for me to find a pair of shoes that does not give me blisters, especially dress shoes. I recently returned a $125.00 dollar pair of shoes to Nodstrom because the sales guy sold me on the fact that they were comfortable.. well two days into a trade show and I blisters on both feet. Usually I’m fine with sneakers, but it could be that running 10 miles in two days pushed my feet to the limit…. ??

Anyways, enough about feet, here is my breakfast this morning. I took an idea from Kath’s Oatmeal contest and made savory oats with an egg, dill, and hot sauce (added after photo).

That salad is so pretty! The oats look good too! I’ve been meaning to try that (egg on oats combo)…though I’m not big on dill! And sorry about your blisters…I always have some kind of sore on my feet from skating. My feet are ALWAYS in pain. ugh. not to mention that I’m super sensitive, and any of my other shoes always tend to rub my feet too! blah!

    happy friday!!!!

I can’t get over the savory oats idea. It seems so weird and yet SO good at the same time. I really need to try it!

That’s too bad about the shoe problems, especially when you are spending that kind of money. You’d think they would be able to design a shoe that doesn’t cause blisters, it can’t be THAT hard can it?

What a gorgeous salad… and bowl of oats… yum, yum, yum. Oh and just so you know- even though this is my first comment I’ve been reading for a while, I’m loving your blog, and I just added you to my blogroll. Hope you don’t mind :)

I have got to get on this savory oats bandwagon! Think I know what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow. Except, sans dill. Can’t stand it, although I do love pickles…weird, I know.

Have you ever gone to one of those specialty sneaker stores? I’ve never been, but I hear they watch you run and pick out your shoes based on your stride.

Argh I need to try those savory oats! I keep forgetting! Yours look really good with the dill on top – I’m definitely going to add some sort of herb or spice now!

Kristie- I thought it was weird at first as well, but turned out to be really good.

Danielle- I just checked out your blog and left you a comment. Thanks for adding me!

Quinn- Can’t wait to see what you think of the savory oats.

Hangry – Yup! That is where I got my last 4 or 5 pair of running shoes, but I must just be tough on shoes because they seem to get worn out, and I need new ones every 6 months

Christie – Thanks! And, I will be sure to check out that website.

Jenn- Let me know what you think of them!

Rose – Thank you, I’m excited to start reading your blog as well!

    Erin – it was!
