Alright, to catch myself back up the salad above is from lunch yesterday. It was my attempt to use all the fresh veggies in the fridge before leaving to house sit. Pretty successful, however there is a still about 1/2 bag of spinach that I am hoping will last. On a side note, those are chopped beets on top and I really love those on salad, but I usually buy them sliced – it was nice to have them already chopped into bite size pieces.
Similar to my last dinner post, just a tomato based sauce rather than pesto and spaghetti noddles rather than penne. I don’t know if you can see it, but I used the “chicken” strips again and the squash was a great addition. This was quite yummy I must say.
So I’ll stop living in the past and move onto the present day. I woke up EARLY to meet with Isaac’s dad for a run. I just came to the realization that I only have 14 weeks to get in shape for the half-marathon I am running in November so I better get with it. We did a 5 mile run this morning before it got blazing hot out there, however now it seems like the sun isn’t going to come out today. I ate a Peanut Butter z-bar before the run, love those. I really want to try the blueberry flavor but can’t seem to find it yet! After the run I came over to the house, feed the pups breakfast and ate some of my own. This is a bowl of Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Whole Grain Cereal Golden Flax. Overall, it was berry good, really dry though and it really soaked up the milk, I had to add more after I took the photo. The wow factor is there is no sugar, 6 grams of fiber, and 8 grams of protein per 1/2 cup serving. I had more than 1 serving, probably 1.75 equal to approx 315 calories without milk. I feel like that is a lot for cereal, but given the protein content I think it’s okay. And it was filling!
I found come roasted cashews in the pantry and ate a couple handfuls of those, probably ruined my appetite for lunch, but oh well, I will have a late lunch. My friend is coming to visit from Arlington today, I don’t know what we will get into.

Ah I hope you can find the blueberry ZBaRs soon! I really want to know what other people think of ‘em!
I have never tried the Ezekiel cereals, but I hear they are awesome!! And all of your food looks amazing!! I love chunky tomato sauces. My mom always makes one with zucchinni, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, basil, oregano, and thyme…plus salt and pepper. Then we put it over pasta or have it plain but always with mozzarella and parm! SO YUMMY! It’s more of my winter/cold weather go-to-meals though!
have a great night!
I used to live in Arlington!
Those berries look great!

Gliding- Ezekiel products are overall great. I think of it as more a winter dish as well, but it’s easy and I had all the ingredients on hand.
Quinn- I used to live nearby Arlington, then moved south. I’ll be sure to check you blog using the link.
