Sweet Vegan Snack

by eatingbirdfood on July 26, 2008

I didn’t do all that much today, I had a late night last night and felt like staying home all day -that’s what one dollar drinks and lots of dancing will do to you. So after sitting around in my gym clothes all day because I planned on making it there at some point (p.s I didn’t and I am still wearing my sports bra as I write this) I decided to justify eating a cookie by riding my bike to this local health food store. I didn’t realize it but if you walk or ride your bike to this particular store you get 25 cents off your total and if you bring your own bag you get 10 cents off. I’m soooo eco-friendly that I got a total of 35 cents off. Because I got such a large discount, I ended up getting a few snacks: some banana chips, wheat berries, dried mango slices, and this vegan treat:

It’s an oatmeal carob chip bakery item called April’s Vegan Cookie or something…. I don’t know April but I do like her cookies. I paired it with some skim milk.

Then along came dinner time and I sauteed some squash and mushrooms with olive oil and garlic. Then added some Morning Star Meal Starter’s Chicken Strips at the end. I also had a salad.

That cookie looks amazing! $1 beers? God, I miss those days….I got $12 for a pitcher tonight and thought it was a bargain. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

Quinn- It was $1.00 for all cocktails! I had about 4 in one hour. I know how you feel though, drink prices are expensive in DC…. I went to school in Northern VA.
