Salsa LATTA

by eatingbirdfood on July 28, 2008

My extremely large salad from dinner last night quickly became my rather large salad for lunch today with some added wheat berries for fun. I love being able to have 2 meals out of one restaurant meal. Usually salad isn’t that great to take home with you, but this was actually really good for leftover salad, it tasted just as good or almost better than yesterday. I forgot to mention this in the last post, but the salad was just fresh spinach with 3 different salsas.. hence the name Salsalada with fresh spicy tomato, black bean mango, and corn salsa, and a hot grilled veggie mix on top. I think the flavors of all the salsas were enhanced by sitting the fridge overnight???

Here is the mini herb garden that I am growing in our house. I planed basil, parsley, chives, and something else I can’t remember. I get excited when plants start to grow.

Ohhh and I’m excited about the winner of Next Food Network STAR.. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who hasn’t watched it yet, but I am happy with their choice!

That salad looks so good! Great idea to add the wheatberries in – I need to make another batch of those soon.

I like the looks of your herb garden. I don’t have much of a green thumb, but it seems like it would be much more practical and fun!

That salad looks yummy!! And I’m pretty jealous of your herb garden. I once had fresh basil at my finger tips when ever I wanted it, but then I got lazy, moved 3 times…and well…I don’t own any plants anymore! I should really think of starting up again!!…cept I don’t have much light in my apt. and I can’t plant outside of my apt. complex!

I just found your blog and i love it! And I can’t wait to watch you know who when s/he makes his debut next week on Food Network. I liked all three of the finalists but the winner is so genuine and real and really rocked it during the little pilot. :)
