It's a Scorcher

by eatingbirdfood on July 22, 2008

Last night I did a 5k race with Isaac’s dad. It was still about 95 degrees here in Richmond when the race started at 7PM. Needless to say it was the hottest race I have ever ran. I think I did well, considering the extreme heat – my time was 26:36, averaging about 8:50 a mile. But, I know I slowed down toward the middle because my first mile was 8:17. I’m glad that the 1/2 marathon that I am signed up for is in November and the weather should be considerably cooler by then.

I had the exact same breakfast as yesterday, because as I said yesterday, I am very creative. But hopefully for lunch I will have something so exciting it will blow you all away. We shall see. For now here is a big frog that I took a photo of when I was staying at the mansion. These guys and their insanely loud croaking are what kept Isaac and I out of the pool at night.

P.S. Frogs really freak me out.

Just catching up on your blog…I’m a new reader. Good luck with the job search, but enjoy your time off!! I didn’t know you were in Richmond. I’m in Charlottesville. Wooo It was hot as hell yesterday, I don’t know how you ran outside. I’m totally embracing my gym’s over-air-conditioning-during-the-summer-month’s policy.

BTW, the “Wooo” after Charlottesville has intense sarcasm behind it :)

I am terrified of frogs. My mom is the only other person I know who is afraid of them. When I tell people about my fear the yalways say the same thing: ” You do know that they can’t hurt you right?”

Thanks for making me feel a little less like a pansy. =]

Kristen

P.S. I love your blog =]
