Vegetarian.. greener on the other side?

by eatingbirdfood on May 24, 2008

Today at work we had a baby shower and I had expected there to be more food but all someone brought in was breakfast pizza. I hadn’t eaten breakfast so I was starving, but that was all there was to eat. It has sausage and bacon, eggs, and cheese. I don’t know why I ate it because I don’t like sausage at all and I only really eat turkey bacon if I ever eat bacon. I came home and looked up the calories and realized it was 600 calories and 19 grams of fat for one slice and I was mad that I had eaten that. I should have just said no thanks. But then again I was hungry and I didn’t want to make the person who brought breakfast feel bad. It was gross though. I thought about it later and thought I could have just said I didn’t eat meat and I wouldn’t have had to eat it.

Also, not because of the above incident, but because I have been seriously considering it for a while I think I might become a vegetarian. I  pretty much already eat vegetarian and I don’t particularly like meat.I don’t eat beef or pork (except today with that stupid pizza). I don’t buy chicken to cook at home but I will sometimes order it when I am out to dinner. I can definitely do without it. I may continue to eat seafood just to make sure I get enough protein, although I haven’t fully decided.

I’m sorry about your experience. Don’t beat yourself up about it through! Tomorrow is another day.

I aways keep a larabrr or a granola bar in my purse just in case I don’t have time to eat, or there’s nothing available for me. At school I have a whole stash of food, in fact, my locker is ONLY food haha.
